Cognitive Behavioural  Hypnotherapy (CBH) combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Hypnotherapy.

CBT is a well accepted and validated therapy used to treat many conditions. When combined with hypnotherapy, the effect is more powerful. According to Kirsch et al. 1993, the average client receiving cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy improved further than at least 80% of clients receiving cognitive behavioural therapy only. (1)

In Hypnotherapy, hypnosis – a natural relaxed state like daydreaming, is used to enhance your capacity to focus on developing skills and resources already present.

The cognitive approach provides a means for you to analyse those beliefs, thoughts and feelings which are becoming problematic for you and to modify them. Hypnotherapy alone is effective in helping people to feel better, but it is likely that when a similar situation arises again, the unwanted response will remain and re-emerge in the future. In order for you to actually get better and to more fully integrate the new thoughts at a subconscious level, hypnotherapy when combined with CBT provides an effective and comfortable route.
