WHAT HAPPENS IN THE
CLINICAL HYPNOSIS SESSION
This is how Lea usually works:
In the initial consultation Lea will ask you questions relating to your life and to your situation. The goal of the therapy is formulated and agreed, and Lea will explain what will happen in hypnosis. You will have a chance to ask questions before the hypnosis starts.
You will have your eyes closed and Lea will make some suggestions to relax your body or focus your attention. Then you will hear her make suggestions based on what was discussed. (The initial discussion is therefore very important as it will give Lea some “tools” to work with, that is your understanding about your condition or situation, the methods that have helped you in the past, and your wishes for a successful outcome.)
During the hypnosis you will also be taught self hypnosis so that you can practice your own relaxation and repeat the positive suggestions agreed.
People experience being hypnotised differently - some feel very light, as if they were floating, others feel as if they are sinking down into the chair, their limbs heavy. Generally people feel as if every muscle in their body is relaxing. It's a pleasant, comfortable feeling. When this part of the hypnosis is over, Lea will “wake you up”, and you will become alert, feeling refreshed and relaxed.
